DUNHILL
Dunhill has been registered in the UK for tobacco products and smokers' requisites since Alfred Dunhill opened his London tobacconist in 1907. The brand expanded into luxury goods, but its origins in Class 34 as a purveyor of pipes, lighters, and tobacco remain central to its heritage. Dunhill's trademark portfolio reflects one of the most successful class-spanning luxury brand extensions in British commercial history.

Brand History & Trademark Analysis
Alfred Dunhill opened his tobacconist shop in St James's on 10 March 1907 and introduced the white spot trademark for pipes in 1912, signifying that each pipe had been hand-finished and approved. The company received its first Royal Warrant in 1921 from Edward, Prince of Wales. Dunhill won a trademark infringement case against "Dunhill Tailored Clothes" in the US and more recently secured 10 million RMB from a Chinese court against menswear brand Danhouli. Richemont Holdings (UK) Limited currently owns the Dunhill name.
