X Corp. is the corporate successor used after Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter, Inc., founded in 2006 in San Francisco by Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams. X Corp. is headquartered in San Francisco and controls the X social platform formerly known as Twitter.

Trade mark strategy shifted from the blue bird logo to stylised X marks, raising questions about distinctiveness against many existing X marks worldwide. In the United Kingdom, rebranding required new filings and coexistence risk analysis across software and telecoms classes.
